Kuakata sea beach
Kuakata is a beauiful sea beach of Bangladesh. Kuakata  Situated  in the Patuakhali district. Kuakata has a wide sandy beach. In this sea beach one can see both the sunrise and sunset. Kuakata sea beach  is about 320 Km south of Dhaka capital of Bangladesh and about 70 Km from the district Patuakhali. The Kuakata sea beach is 30 kilometer long and 6 kilometerm wide.

History
Kuakata came from the Bengali language 'Kua' which means �Well� . It was made on the sea side by the Rakhine settlers for gathering fresh water. Rakhine settlers came here at 18th century after being banished from Arakan now this is Myanmar by the Mughals. Later on, it has become a heritage of digging Well or 'Kua' in the Rakhaine tribes for fresh drinking water.

Kuakata has another name is "Shagor Kannya" known as Locally Which means "Daughter of the Sea". This area is also a shelter for migratory winter birds. Once upon a time Kuakata was the part of Sundarbans when the settlers came here. Eastern corner of the beach  is Gongamati Reserved Forest, an evergreen mangrove forest. You can go to the forest by foot or bike through the beach. It is the places of pilgrimage for both Hindu and Buddhist people. 'Rush Purnima' and 'Maghi Purnima' on these two days the Hindu and Buddhist people take holy bath at the bay of bangle at kuakata. In this time there held a fair. You  can also visit 100 years old Buddhist Temple and two wells of 200 years old. Fisher man village is another places for visit. By managed the fisher man you can go for fishing if you are adventure lover. In this village you will watch the seen that the fisher man come back after fishing. You can also also buy some fish from the fisher man. 

Accommodation
The government and local business man have made many developments over the years to attract traveler in kuakata. There are many Parjatan Motel hotel in Kuakata. And communication system is well. The best way to reach Kuakata from Dhaka is to first travel to Barisal by road, water, or air, and then to take the bus or boat/launch for the destination. The Bangladesh Road Transport Corporation introduced a direct bus service from Dhaka to Kuakata via Barisal. So enjoy your travel.
